HAPPY & SAFE DEEPAVALI 2022: BE AWARE OF THESE SAFETY RULES ON DIWALI friendlyyours.com
Your celebration may always be fun with a few safety rules on Diwali day. With the safety precautions, take pleasure in the festive times.
Follow these safety rules on Diwali day
1. Keep the First aid kit ready
A first aid kit needs to be kept at home at all times. We must verify their expiration date & replace the old ones. This is necessary during the Diwali season when we deal with plenty of hot oils, decorate with electric lights, use firecrackers, etc. The following basic first aid items are a must for urgent use, and any serious injuries require medical attention.
OTC Pain relief.
Burn ointments.
Antiseptic liquid.
Aloe vera gel or moisturizing lotion (first aid for burns).
Sterile Gauze.
Bandage.
Cold compress.
Tincture.
2. Avoid oil splatter and burn injuries while making sweets
Making sweets comes first in the Diwali celebration. A week before Diwali, our mothers will start making sweets. Who doesn’t enjoy sweets prepared at home for Diwali? While making sweets, there are several opportunities for oil splatter and burn injuries. So, follow the below safety rules to avoid issues.
a) Keep a bucket of water handy to use as washing water in case of fire.
b) Please be careful when handling hot oils. Have quality pain relievers and burn ointments at home.
c) If you have small burns, give the region a 10-minute soak in running water. Avoid rubbing the ice, since this could cause more damage.
d) Do not apply butter or oil to any burns because they will only make them worse over time.
d) Go to the hospital right away if you get a severe burn.
g) If pain persists, you may take acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
b) Maintain adequate ventilation and leave the door open so you can escape in an emergency.
g) When making a lot of sweets in the kitchen, make sure there is at least one person at home. They would support in times of need.
h) Keep children away from the hot oil pans.
i) If you have little children, keep them with someone to prevent any unexpected injury.
j) Call the LPG Leak Helpline Number – 1906 for any gas leakage issues.
3. Do safe shopping
New outfits will make Deepavali sparkle. Therefore, everyone enjoys buying their favorite items for Diwali. We must take safety precautions when shopping, such as wearing high-quality masks, using hand sanitizers, and avoiding crowds for extended periods.
To protect yourself, try to purchase a little bit earlier. However, due to better deals the day before Diwali, many people will purchase.
We are unable to impose restrictions because so many people intend to purchase at reasonable prices. However, remember to put on masks and take a clean bath once you arrive home. Do not bring young children, the elderly, or sick people into crowded areas.
4. Purchase branded fireworks
1. We should only purchase fireworks from reputable, authorized vendors.
2. Never purchase poor fireworks, regardless of the offer.
3. Purchase crackers based on the age of the children. Avoid using high Walas on them if they are little.
4. Buy fireworks that produce less noise than 95dB.
5. Fireworks need to adhere to the BS7114 Standard.
6. Purchase long sparklers for children because they won’t hurt their hands.
5. Finally, buy fireworks while keeping safety, cost, and enjoyment in mind.
5. Store crackers safely
A single spark is all it takes to light a cracker. Make sure to keep them in a container with a tight seal that is ideally made of solid wood or hard plastic.
Your crackers will be properly protected because wood and strong plastic can withstand minute sparks and electric currents. It is never a good idea to store crackers in cardboard boxes or regular plastic bags.
